Once a child, named Barok, ridiculed Agurang Onyo for his protruding canine.
"Yak! You’ve got a bangkil! You’re an aswang! Man-eating monster!" Barok taunted Agurang Onyo.
Agurang Onyo smiled. He was not bothered by Barok's childish taunting.
"I think Pidut Alinganga was right," continued Barok. "He said you were a child of darkness having been born just before Bakunawa ate the sun."
Agurang Onyo's demeanor suddenly changed at the mentioned of Pidut Alinganga's name. Pidut never missed a chance to denigrate Agurang Onyo. Pidut specially enjoy in telling people that the mangin-alamon was born just before an eclipse and always concluded that the old man was cursed and evil.
"Aswang! Agurang is aswang!" Barok teased.
"Uh…" Agurang Onyo's stuttered. He was tempted to retort with much sarcasm. The taunting was especially irritating for him since the idea can be traced back to Pidut Alinganga. He realized, however, that it would only increase the venom of Barok's mockery. Anyway, he thought, his canines really looked like bangkil.
Suddenly, Agurang Onyo had an idea.
Barok was perplexed at the sudden turn of events. He tried to ignore Agurang Onyo's counterattack. So the mangin-alamon continued "Beh, beh, beh, beh, beh! You've got no bangkil!" That time, he unleashed all the enthusiasm he could summon.
"Well…uh…" Barok was in some obvious confusion then. "I got a bangkil here." He pointed to one of his front teeth.
Agurang Onyo told him "Oh! It's not a bangkil."
"How about this one? For sure this is a bangkil." Barok had misty eyes then.
"O no, it's not! Ha ha ha! Barok has no bangkil! Beh beh beh beh beh!"
"How about this one?"
"No! Beh!"
Barok cried. So, Agurang Onyo was forced to acknowledge that, indeed, Barok has a bangkil.
